San Francisco Weekend March 4-6.

San Francisco-During Women's History Month, National Coalition of 100 Black Women's President M. Delois (Dee Dee) Strum PhD. will be the keynote speaker at the Sixth Annual "Golden Girls Hats and Gloves Tea" to be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the historic Fairmont Hotel on famed Nob Hill in San Francisco. The San Francisco Chapter of the Coalition of 100 Black Women is making a national call to action for a National Coalition of 100 Black Women Weekend in San Francisco, March 4, 5, and 6, 2011 inviting women's groups and their families and friends from across the nation. Everyone is welcome. As fund raising allows, the San Francisco Chapter is also providing the unique "Bridging the Generations Employment Training Opportunity" that will be an intergenerational three month "on the job" training program.

"Hospitality is the most significant and direct way to build bridges between people and I applaud the San Francisco Chapter for making a call to action for women of all races and ethnic backgrounds and their families and friends to break bread with us during the "Bridging the Generations" Tea and Tour of San Francisco, said National President of the Coalition of 100 Black Women, Dr. M. Delois (Dee Dee) Strum. What better place to build or reinforce cultural bridges than in San Francisco, where the first United Nations meeting was held. The development of the "Bridging the Generations Employment Training Opportunity" is an example of out of the box thinking that demonstrates the capacity of coalition chapters to benefit their communities."

people who just want to meet and greet and get back to thatnext door neighbor chatting across the fence feeling," said Dr. Maxine Hickman, President of the San Francisco Chapter. "There's something for everyone from tours of the World Series Champion San Francisco Giants stadium to Fisherman's Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge and more. San Francisco is a multicultural city and we want to share some positive news our neighbors may not always hear in the media."

San Francisco Chapter founder and President Emeritus I-Lee Murphy-Reed points out the fact that a multicultural theme is nothing new to the nonprofit organization. "During last year's tea, Assemblyman Leland Yee joined us, along with Supervisor Bevan Dufty and Syndi Seid founder and CEO of Advanced Etiquette World Wide was on the program with a presentation about the history of "High Tea," said Murphy-Reed. Syndi, the recognized world's leading authority on business protocol is the author of the recently released "Etiquette in Minutes" and will be joining us again."

Zahrah" will emcee the Sixth Annual Golden Girls Hats and Gloves Tea that will honor women who have served the community and will pay tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen. Honorees include former San Francisco District 10 Supervisor Sophie Maxwell, Alma Jackson founder and CEO of Sojourner Truth Family Services, Karen Clopton, Chief Administrative Law Judge for the California PUC and President of the San Francisco League of Women Voters Savanna Smith of Women's Education Center, Educator Althea Carrie, Marie De La Parra, CEO of BMB Construction Properties, Arlene Hylton, Program Director for the San Francisco Human Services Agency Independent Living Skills Program, and Health Advocate Edna James.
