"The Piper" of Flipsyde- Interviewed Live at KQED FM-"Cops and Robbers" Extended!

Two years before Ferguson and the headlines of Ray Rice, Jinho "The Piper" Ferreira, wrote "Cops and Robbers" about an officer involved shooting, as a medium to call for change.    "The Piper"  of Flipsyde, which toured the world with Black Eyed Peas, Snoop Lion and others, is now also a law enforcement officer, playwright and author.  H continues his call for dialogue in America about violence, racism, and sexism.  Personal responsibility is core to his message to stop the violence.  Listen today at 10 a.m. on KQED's Forum with host Joshua Johnson. Click Here for KQED. Hear the story  of how his wife, educator, Dr. Dawn Williams Ferreira encouraged him to create change via "Cops and Robbers."   Hear him talk about the purpose of the play to create dialogue and change. The "Cops and Robbers" project includes the play, the book "Cops and Robbers, Past ,Present and Future, the CD of the play, that has been submitted to the Grammy's and the Single "Believe" from the "Cops and Robbers" EP.  This weekend's show at the Marsh in Berkeley is the last of the original run and is sold out.

KTSF Family mourns the passing of founder Lillian Lincoln Howell, who passed at her home on August 31, 2014.
Howell at age 85 pictured at KTSF Studios 30th Anniversary in 2006.

Dear Friends:  KTSF's founder and owner, Lillian Lincoln Howell, passed away at her home on August 31. Lillian's mission was to serve the underserved and she did so admirably for the past 38 years by formatting her station for the benefit of various local communities in Northern California. You are welcome to attend the visitation to be held this Saturday from 3-7pm at the Crosby N. Gray & Co. funeral home at 2 Park Road in Burlingame.

Mizan Dadres-Oman , 16, was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Foerster Street, located towards the southern part of San Francisco. She is described as a Black teen, 5-foot-3 and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
