Ricardo Scales
Honors Paris with "Joie de Vivre" Tribute
At "Top of the Mark" 25th CD Release Party

San Francisco-November 16, 2015-
Ricardo Scales, who has been compared to Liberace, takes his audience to mystical heights.  Scales who is a longtime Bay Area "Top of the Mark" favorite, will be launching his new CD "Stay With Me" at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins, Wednesday, November 18, 2015, from 7:00 p.m.-11:30 p.m.  This is the prolific pianist's 25th compilation of music.

Ricardo Scales' performances are said to be ethereal and transformative.
Scales whose work spans Classical, Rock, Jazz, Gospel, and R & B will take a few moments of the CD release party to bring a solemn moment of deep respect in honor of the victims and survivors of Paris' tragic attacks four days ago on November 13th.  The French Consul General Pauline Carmona and San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee and Board of Supervisors have been invited to be a part of the tribute to be held in San Francisco, Paris' "Sister City."

"The French people have determined that "Joie de Vivre" will continue to be a part of their lives in spite of the heartbreaking attack on innocent fun loving people.  So as I celebrate "Stay with Me," I would like to give respect where respect is due with tribute to France as I begin my performance," said Ricardo Scales.   "Music is healing to the soul.  So we will step up the pitch to a fabulous good time that France has always demonstrated to people of good cheer around the world. May the healing begin."

Scales knows the power of healing and it is demonstrated in his music.  He literally used music to heal himself due to an accident that left his left hand paralyzed at 19 years of age.  Scales who had his first recital at age 7, the son of a music teacher, Patience Scales refused to give up on himself when doctors and musicians told him he'd be better off being a house painter.  Spurred on by the rebuff of doctors and physical therapists that said it was impossible for him to regain use of his hand that had cords severed and three fingers curled into the palm of his hand, Scales overcame adversity.

Many say his music is mystical and at times takes the listener to an ethereal world.  Given his triumph over tragedy Ricardo Scales may be just the musical guide to inspire his audience Wednesday night to also overcome their challenges.  One can be assured that an evening with Ricardo Scales will guide one into a good time and memorable moments.

The "Stay With Me" CD Release Party at the Intercontinental Mark Hopkins Hotel on historic Nob Hill, 999 California Street, San Francisco, 94108 is open to the public.  The Top of the Mark is on the 19th Floor and gives panoramic breathtaking views of San Francisco's skyline, the Willie L. Brown Jr. Bridge and Golden Gate Bridge.  Enjoy the 360-degree panorama with dance floor, the signature martini menu and no host bar for a small cover charge for an evening of elegant surroundings.  On top of that at "The Top of the Mark" enjoy the  "you'll be glad you came" performance and an opportunity to find out how to purchase the transformative sounds of Ricardo Scales' "Stay With Me."
