Black Pastors Honor Dr. King Today at News Conference
Denouncing Displacements of Blacks in San Francisco

The Eviction of Pastor Yul Dorn, a Chaplain of the San Francisco Sheriff's Department, escorted out of his home by his fellow officers, has hit a nerve in the Black Community as Black Pastors and other community leaders unite to help Dorn and others.

In Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Black Pastors Unite to End Evictions and Further Black Displacement Speculator Greed Resulting in Black Pastor's Arrest Indicative of Final Tearing Apart of San Francisco's Last Remaining Blacks.

Pastor Yul Dorn has been a pillar of San Francisco's Black community, serving as a pastor of a predominantly Black church in the Western Addition; a grief counselor for the City of San Francisco's Department of Public Health dedicated to stopping retaliatory violence and counseling grieving families and as a Chaplain for the San Francisco Sheriff's Department. Like countless other borrowers, Pastor Dorn was forced into Foreclosure when Chase Bank misapplied payments and never fixed their error. (Click here for entire media alert)

WHEN:  Martin Luther King Day, 11:15 AM, Monday, January 18, 2016

WHY: "The San Francisco Black Community is fast approaching a population of 3% because of our battle against predators like Wall Street Banks and real estate speculators trying to take our homes" stated Archbishop Franzo King, of the St. John Coltrane Church, which is also fighting displacement.  "Pastor Dorn symbolizes what is good and what is important to protect our Black community. He has not only shouldered the responsibility of shepherding his congregation, but that of his community as well.  He has provided comfort to the families in crisis and helped lead the community to fight against injustices. He has stood with us and none of us in the religious community can stand back while this family fights for their very existence in this city.  Taking a stand with Pastor Dorn will help protect other Black families."

ON MLK DAY CHURCH PRAYS TO STAY

Can Community Assembly of God Church be saying "Et tu, Brute to the City of San Francisco

You may recall the battle to save Frederick Douglass Haynes Apartments built by Third Baptist Church.

You may recall page 5 of the City Sponsored Document resulting in a negative news article in Ingleside-Excelsior Light community newspaper that identified 13 Black churches in the OMI District as a deterrent to economic growth.

Now, Community Church Assembly of God Church in the Excelsior District goes to its knees today at 9 a.m.  as it is threatened to be taken over by the City of San Francisco.

PRAY & SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP SAN FRANCISCO'S EMMINENT DOMAIN TAKEOVER

CURRENT STRUGGLE

The City of San Francisco has declared its intent to take the property of
Community Assembly of God at 355 Ocean Avenue by eminent domain.

We believe this is a travesty should not be allowed to go forward for the
following reasons:

        *       Building low-income housing on this site will exacerbate congestion in
this already over-crowded area.

        *       The mission of this church is to reach the people of San Francisco, and
especially those in the Ingleside-Excelsior District.  Forcing us to move
from this neighborhood at a below market cost, will destroy our ability
to remain in this community - a community we have served for over 4
decades - and destroy the positive impact the church has here.

        *       With this action, the City has made it clear that they do not value
churches or freedom of religion.   Our church has a long history of
creating positive change here, but the City is only interested in meeting
the Mayor's goal of increasing low-income housing - no matter the cost to
our communities, our families, and our livelihoods.

        *       The threat of eminent domain is not limited to churches - your home,
your business, or any other property could be next!

We invite you, the community to stand with Community AOG Church.
