The Presidio Trust Remembering the Reason for Memorial Day

​​The Presidio Trust, the City of San Francisco, and the Department of Veterans Affairs​ invite you to be part of the official City and County of San Francisco Memorial Day Observance on Monday, May 28, at the Presidio of San Francisco. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Presidio’s participation in the city’s annual ceremony, dating back to the establishment of this national day of remembrance in 1868.

The Presidio is hosting a series of events. The centerpiece is the 150th Anniversary Formal Ceremony which begins at 11 am at San Francisco National Cemetery. See below for complete details on the day's events.
 

MEMORIAL DAY SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

9:30 am
Flag Raising at Pershing Square
Meet at Pershing Square, located across from the Presidio Officers' Club, 50 Moraga Avenue, on the Main Post.

10:30 am
Grand March
Join in a community processional from the Presidio Officers' Club to San Francisco National Cemetery with veterans, families, and dignitaries.

11 am
150th Anniversary Formal Ceremony at San Francisco National Cemetery
This formal ceremony at San Francisco National Cemetery (located at 1 Lincoln Boulevard, a short walk from the Presidio Officers' Club) features reflections on sacrifice, service, and the history of remembrance at the Presidio.

Noon
Community Picnic on the Main Parade Ground
Gather with family and friends on the Main Parade Ground for games and music. Food is available for purchase. The Main Parade is a short walk from the cemetery.


Registration is not required.

Posted Courtesy of Wright Enterprises Community Spotlight ~San Francisco ~ Dallas ~~~ The San Francisco Police Department's Missing Person Unit is seeking assistance in finding a teen girl who was reported missing on Wednesday, February 14. Mizan Dadres-Oman , 16, was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Foerster Street, located towards the southern part of San Francisco. She is described as a Black teen, 5-foot-3 and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
