"Love Separated in Life..." Among Films Announced for the San Diego Black Film Festival, January 30-February 3, 2019
SAN FRANCISCO - Jan. 1, 2019 - PRLog -- The San Diego Black Film Festival has announced films to be screened during its 17th Anniversary, January 30-February 3, 2019.  Among them is "Love Separated in Life...Love Reunited in Honor" written and directed by San Francisco publicist Jackie Wright, founder of Wright Enterprises and Jack LiVolsi, CEO and Founder of San Francisco's Jackson Street Productions.  LiVolsi co-directed and edited the short documentary.  The film is tribute to the significance of President Harry Truman's Executive Order 9981 that desegregated the military.

"Given these days of racial derision that we are facing again in our country, festivals like the San Diego Black Film Festival are very significant since they give balance to the public discourse on race," said Jackie Wright, founder of Wright Enterprises. "Many thanks toDirector Karen L. Willis, J.D. and team for providing a platform for films like ours that demonstrate the best in America.   We removed a Fallen Vietnam Hero from a deteriorating segregated cemetery for reburial at Arlington National Cemetery with other military families giving honor at the ceremony."  It was the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Movement and the 150th Anniversary of Arlington National Cemetery.

From the White families that commemorated the 50th and 44th death anniversaries of Sp5 Wyley Wright Jr. and Ouida F. Wright, who passed on March 9, 1964 and March 9, 1970 respectively to the Vietnamese family that learned of their part in honoring the Wrights, the film is about people coming together to honor humanity.  "Love Separated in Life...Love Reunited in Honor" will be screened Saturday, February 2 in the 12:30 p.m. block at the ArcLight Cinemas LaJolla Village in San Diego with films: "Harlem Schools 1970;" "Three Women" and "Asia A."

DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES; BUT THEIR CHILDREN DO
by Jackie Wright
Amid old headlines and most recent headlines generated by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick's "The Vietnam War," the voices of those affected by the war other than generals and politicians, are rarely heard. The voices of those impacted at the heart level of the war are often muted. It took Jackie Wright, an award-winning journalist more than forty years to come to terms with the fact that the Vietnam War had been devastating to her child's heart and her family. "Dead Men Tell No Tales; But Their Children Do" is the start of Wright taking a small glimpse at the fact she had been carrying around a war wound that had been unattended for most of her life. "Dead Men Tell No Tales; But Their Children Do," became the pathway for discovery yielding Wright's 2017 short inspirational documentary film, "Love Separated in Life...Love Reunited in Honor." FOR E-BOOK PURCHASE INFORMATION CLICK HERE!
