THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND THE COVID19 PANDEMIC: HOW DO WE PROTECT THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAVE LIVES?

We can send man to the moon; but we can't even get COVID19 test kits to the American people, and protective face masks, respirators, and ventilators to the doctors, nurses, and hospitals on the front lines battling COVID19.

The World Health Organization (WHO) just announced that the United States could soon become the epicenter of COVID19 pandemic.

We must take the COVID19 pandemic emergency seriously, not only for ourselves in the U.S. but globally as well.

The White House's response to COVID19 has been poor at best.

Initially, the White House said that COVID19 was a "hoax" invented by the media.

Then it blamed COVID19 on President Barack Obama.

Then it called COVID19 the "Chinese virus," even though Asian Americans and others have pointed out the racist and anti-Chinese intent of such terminology, driven by its intent to blame the Chinese government for the White House's own failures.

COVID19 is virulent and dangerous.  COVID19 will continue to spread, and its consequences will continue to increase exponentially.

The American people are looking for leadership in our government, at the federal, state, and local levels, in addressing COVID19, to protect our public health, to protect our families.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the top expert on infectious diseases in the U.S., has been absent two days at the White House press briefings.  Why?

Is it because Dr. Fauci last week told us at a press briefing that the anti-malaria drug, chloroquine, has not yet undergone the rigorous clinical trials to qualify it for use to treat COVID19, contradicting the occupant of the White House?

Dr. Fauci deserves the Nobel Prize.

We cannot allow Dr. Fauci's unmatched medical and scientific expertise, his wisdom, his service and commitment to protecting the health and lives of the American people, and his voice to be muzzled.

We the American people must demand of the White House and our government to provide us with:

• The COVID19 test kits

• The protective masks, respirators, and ventilators for the doctors, nurses, and hospitals on the frontlines

• Coordination and cooperation between all levels and sectors of government

• Real leadership in the Congress and Senate

• Priority #1 to combatting the COVID19 pandemic, protecting the public health and the lives of the American people and their families

• Combatting COVID19 both on the home front and the global community

As we, the American people, all of us together, combat COVID19, it's good to know that we can read the Twitter and Facebook messages from President Barack Obama regarding combatting COVID19.

Let us also pray for God's help and guidance.
