Recovery Package for Local Biz Signed in Oakland
Parklets have been signed into law! We're proud that Governor Newsom chose Oakland's own Kingston 11 Cuisine to sign the latest California COVID-19 recovery package. This legislation will keep the good ideas that worked during the pandemic—like parklets and to-go cocktails—and continue to grow and strengthen our small local, businesses. #BuildBackBetter
Oakland's Redistricting: View District Map Proposals
This week, the Oakland Redistricting Commission released four draft district maps for public consideration. Oakland residents can provide input in the redistricting process by:
New district boundaries must be approved by December 31. All Oaklanders should get involved in this vital process, and make your voice heard!
Oakland Programs Supporting Oakland Students
Oakland Promise, a transformative initiative launched in 2016, is dedicated to helping Oakland students from cradle to college to career. Oakland Promise supports students like Oakland Tech graduate Imahni Cheeks, who started school at University of San Francisco this fall. Find out how you can get involved—by volunteering or becoming a mentor—and help young Oaklanders achieve their college dreams.
