Tickets on Sale Now for the 20th Annual Oakland International Film Festival

“Connecting the World Through Films” September 15th- 24th

Ten Days of international, national and Bay Area films screened at the historic Grand Lake and Fox Theaters and cultural & historic points in between.

WHO- David Roach, Co-Founder & Executive Director of Oakland International Film Festival; filmmakers including Cat Brewer; Skinner Myers; Joslyn Rose Lyon;  James Calhoun; Wimbush Chihiro; Jamar Collins; Jed Terrence Lee; Jeyachandra Hashmi; Damien McDuffie; Vaughn Arterberry; Dan Katzir; Ravit Markus; and special guests Will Scott; Wanda Stewart; Richard Campbell; Content and the Metaverse Panelists: Shawn Granberry; Randy Riggings; Bosko Kante; Dinis Guarda; special guests and films including U.S. Representative Barbara Lee; California Governor Gavin Newsom; and the Late San Francisco Public Defender and filmmaker Jeff Adachi. Hungry DJ Posse will be among the musicians performing.

WHAT-  Ten days of films from around the world including Spain, India, China and films with an Oakland and Bay Area POV.  Opening Night Films include: "Sweet Biriyani"; "Pen to Pencil"; "The Sleeping Negro" and more.   Closing Night film features a documentary about Oaksterdam University in "American Pot Story: Oaksterdam"-'How California Legalizers Changed the World.'  Evening includes a special Oaksterdam University 15th anniversary party.

Posted Courtesy of Wright Enterprises Community Spotlight ~San Francisco ~ Dallas ~~~ The San Francisco Police Department's Missing Person Unit is seeking assistance in finding a teen girl who was reported missing on Wednesday, February 14. Mizan Dadres-Oman , 16, was last seen around 4:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Foerster Street, located towards the southern part of San Francisco. She is described as a Black teen, 5-foot-3 and 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
