Sacred celebrations were underway today in New York and San Francisco with remembrances of the 9-11 attacks and the sacrificed lives of that fateful day, September 11, 2001 and historic African American Third Baptist Church 170th Anniversary that were noted in today's electronic newsletter, Wright Enterprises Community Spotlight San Francisco~Dallas!

JON BATISTE'S

AMERICAN SYMPHONY

AT CARNEGIE HALL

New York, New York-Jon Batiste of NOLA’s Royal Family of Music… stopped through Dr. John D. Boyd’s BTSE (Black Team Sports Enterprises) on September 9th to talk about and live out his passion to be rooted to the people and the music that have fueled his award-winning journey of 11 Grammy Nominations with 5 wins and an Oscar for the film “Soul.”

Batiste spoke about his mother, father and the extended "NOLA Royal Family of Music",  the Batistes,  including his first cousin NOLA’s Cultural Ambassador Damon Batiste who he credited with taking him to South Africa for his first international experience and Damon’s father, his uncle David Batiste, who is celebrating his 75th birthday and 60 years in the music industry.  Sir David Batiste was recently featured during San Francisco Black Film Festival’s Live Talk @SFBFF.

During the Q & A, great news from the Batiste on the home front included Jon sharing that his wife Suleika Jaouad is cancer free. A lot of hallelujahs and shouts for joy flowed from Dr. Boyd’s weekly audience.

The inspiring intimate meeting ended with news of Batiste’s upcoming unique, inspirational concert at Carnegie Hall. Still time to book that hotel, hop that flight, enjoy the concert and have an after party at your favorite New York City restaurant (an example of culture and tourism at work for the economy, always a key message of NOLA’s cultural ambassador Damon Batiste).

Check out the 9/9 Boyd BTSE Weekly Message-Obey Your Angels Not Demons.
